Happy Friday Everyone,
I want to start by saying I’m a huge face mask junkie, I don’t care if it’s a clay, gel, or a sheet mask, I love them all! I recently came across this carbonated bubble mask by Elizavecca while I was trolling Amazon. The name sold me and then the cute little pig on the front sealed the deal. Plus it was only $10, compared to some of my other masks this was a steal, and has a decent amount of product (4.3oz). I’ve never heard of this brand but as I searched I saw they had some really interesting face products. So of course I’ll be purchasing more and sharing my thoughts with you guys.
When I first opened the jar I was intrigued by the look, feel, and smell of this mask. It’s a gray gelatinous looking blob. Its texture reminds me of tapioca pudding and the smell reminds me of the green slime I played with as a kid (not in a bad way) and added bonus it comes with a mini spatula.
There really isn’t any English on the jar so this is what I found on Amazon: Formulated with carbonated water and mud, washes off pores and dirt. Contains various ingredients such as green tea, pomegranate and charcoal powder. The carbonated water gives a soft massage while charcoal and mud remove excess oil, makeup and dirt, all while tightening pores. I don’t know about you but this all sounds great to me.
The Amazon website suggests you use this on a dry uncleaned face. Unfortunately I didn’t see that until after using this mask a few times with a clean face, but I honestly wouldn’t use this on a full face of makeup anyway. The instructions say to spread an even layer over your face and wait 5 minutes until bubbles start to appear, then gently massage into skin to melt down dirt. Then rinse with warm water.
I’m gonna tell you the bubbles start sooner than 5 minutes and they get more and more intense by the minute. Be careful not to get this too close to your eyes or nose because it expands and gets pretty puffy. It actually ended up covering my nostrils the first time I used it. The feeling this mask gives isn’t the most pleasant but it’s not awful. It gives this kind of itchy, tingly, ants crawling over your face kind of sensation. Now that I’ve used it a few times already I’m used to it and know what to expect. I suggest distracting yourself with a game on your phone or a TV show you really like because if you just sit there thinking about the million ants crawling all over your face you’re gonna want to scratch it all off. It’s not painful just really annoying but the sensation lessens as you massage it in.
Once its time to rinse you’re going to need to be prepared to put some work in. This thing likes to stay put and likes to keep bubbling. I always end up making a huge water mess all over my bathroom counter so now I use it before getting in the shower so rinse off is a lot easier and cleaner.
Don’t let what I’m saying scare you off from this mask though because after I wash it off I’m left with visibly tightened pores and squeaky clean skin!! It gives my face a tightened feeling but not drying. I really like this one and I find it to be pretty entertaining. I will definitely repurchase once its gone. Thanks for reading.
